 Exalt and Smite
« Thread Started on Nov 6, 2009, 5:50pm »

Each time that you view this site, you can click on exalt or smite for a coach to raise or lower their karma. Exalt a coach when they help you with something and smite a coach if they are totally out of line!

Please be realistic in your use of exalt and smite! There are numerous coaches on the site that will help you with anything they can. I don't have a problem that someone with truely unique ideas making a buck. You don't have to agree with a coach or their philosophy but you have to respect their right to sell their unique ideas.

I haven't read of anyone on this site who makes dvd's offer them up for free. If I payed for something or had developed a unique offense or defense then I would want something for that creation!

Just my 2 cents worth!!

I want to thank BruChu, Dr.D, Carrier42, Titangb and many others for their time, help, notes, ideas and guidance!

This is a great basketball site and shouldn't be demeaned by unprofessional behavior! I hope everyone who feels the same or similiar will talk the talk and walk the walk!

The Karma deal is fine but its interesting that people are so worried about it. Not saying you are but I know that people watch it as some sort of validation. I should probably be better about giving them but I seldom smite nor exalt so I guess its a wash. If someone is truly out of line like you said I will smite them or if someone sends me something I will exalt them, but its easy to rub someone the wrong way or get smacked for disagreeing with someone so dwelling or even caring seems silly to me.

I dont know what my karma is as I write this but lets see it hit 0 by the morning =)

Take care,

Thank you bdevil15 for adding your comments and perceptions. I only wanted the clarification of professional use of exalt and smite re-introduced!
I'm as hard headed, stubborn and as competitive as most but what I thought I knew before finding this site and what I know now about every aspect of basketball and coaching isn't comparable. I've gained so much knowledge from the post, responses, notes given, trading, and buying that I don't want to see un-professional behavior by a few to exile anyone!

Man up if you disaggree with a post and respond professionally! Don't smite them behind their back, and if you really have a personal disaggreement then settle it in a Personal Message not on the board!

It's not Thanksgiving yet but I'm very thankful for this site and all the coaches who have helped me help my players!

I never even paid attention to that. Now I know what people are talking about when they mention karma. I think the whole smite/exalt idea is silly. Forums are for sharing ideas, experiences, and opinions. This is one of the best, and I value everyone's input and enjoy reading about our differences every day.

Well put tigercoach! This site has been so educational for me as well. It is awesome to be able to talk basketball and share notes. So everybody give credit where credit is due.

Now that I know what the heck they mean, I owe titan about 500 exalts! (among many others.)

I am in the same boat as Coach Gary. I have gotten a lot of good stuff handed to me from a variety of coaches on this forum and never knew anything about exalting them.

I would also owe Titan, Dr. D. and others quite a few.
