My kids are 11-12 years old and the skill level ranges from never touched a basketball before to athletic.
Are there any drills that you suggest that will encourage kids to not turn their backs to the basket when being guarded?

Absolutely, I have a few free and a few more for a couple dollars just to cover cost. You can get the free ones no strings attached. Please advise.

You can do the traditional Zig-Zag drill. Close-out drill as well, force them to play 1 on 1 with three or less dribbles (if you turn your back you will never get a good shot)

Brian McCormick has some great stuff in his cross over movement materials on games that you can use. I would suggest 3 on 3 or 4 on 4 half court no dribble. Teach kids to pivot and see the floor and pass under pressure while players off the ball have to cut and move to get open. Another ball pressure drill is 4 on 4 strong with the ball drill where 4 offensive players try to hang on to the ball for a set time (20 -30 seconds). Offense can hold ball for 4 seconds, take 2 dribbles and hold again for 4 seconds. Forces kids to protect the ball and move with out the ball.
