I've already noticed a lot of play diagrams here and on Bruno's blog use this standard halfcourt image with the yellow background. How can I find this standard image and draw my own plays? I'd like to see if I can post an image to share what I see happening in our games and how to best counter them. Is there some software that makes these play diagrams?

Ah, thanks, I think Jes is the one that's being used. Being a software guy myself I can appreciate the hard work put into building this program. Very nice.

Hi there. Sideline Sports (www.sidelinesports.com) has excellent tools for play animating and diagramming. They even have a free version of their Sideline Organizer. It is worth a look for sure. They are the best I have seen.

The most effective play diagramming software on the market is built by CREZ. This system allows you to build your own play pages with half and full courts of various sizes as well as text boxes. Sketch plays quickly, connect video to plays, and create scouting reports using play pages with scouting notes.

I use basketball blueprint. The version our program bought allows us to have 15 different users so we are able for every coach to have one as well as some players. It is very useful for your point guards. It allows you to email plays back and forth and they have a knowledge base to.

I think what software you choose depends on your needs and resources. there is no 'best' product. The Crez package is fantastic...it's also 300-1300$ and out of most people's price ranges.
They all have different wrinkles; I tend to like the programs that have the fewest distractions. If you want something that you can learn quickly and that gets the idea across, K.I.S.S. - Jes-Soft's product is an inexpensive, sensible choice.

I've actually recently released a new program called OnePlaybook. It's an online coaching tool where a coach can draw plays, share videos and post announcements, to name a few things.
Essentially, it gives a team its own, secure website where a coach can share information with his players without needing to print anything out or burn any DVDs. It was built around the idea of having a coach never have to physically hand a player anything.
I would love to hear what coaches think, and because this is a constantly developed program, any ideas coaches have, we will work to add.

I have tried CREZ and like it a lot but havent decided to pull the trigger yet.

After reading all post, I must point few things. Basketball Playbook from Jes has very poor graphic, without curved motion... Sideline is expensive and very hard to use with a lot of clicks...CREZ dont give you satsifaction for that huge amount of its price. The best joice is SportCode SportDraw http://www.sportcode.co.rs/draw.htm which has lower price, nice graphic with circle or human players icons, easy to use, can create AVI or Flash video clip which we can send on email and all that with one!!! click.... http://www.sportcode.co.rs

Nothing... absolutely nothing, compares to FastDraw and the new FastScout for diagramming and opponent and self scouting. It's not even close. In 25+ years of coaching I have never seen anything as profesional, as easy while having a low price. FastDraw and FastScout... try them.
