I have been using Power Point but it is not smooth. Would you mind sharing? Allively@myfairpoint.net

I have found a great website. It is free and easy to use. It is called http://www.athleonsport.com/ You can diagram all types of sports. It is free and has a lot of nice features. Just sign-up. It even has some simple plays in the playbook.

Hard to beat "PlayBook" software from www.jes-soft.com. It is free and you can animate the plays.

agreed. the other suggestions were good, just not really digging them. the image i posted was from fastmodel...which i think costs quite a bit..but heard they are going to be releasing a high school version that is much more affordable..so i might look into that whenever it is announced.

I work for a company that designed a play diagramming software that is used by D1 and NBA coaches - they just launched a version of the software for download online for a pretty reasonable price and if you buy more then one license you get a great discount (50% off each additional license). I'd love the feedback if you have any. Check it out here: http://www.fastmodelsoftware.com//products/FastDrawBasic.php

Jes-soft and if you put 0's in the serial box it registers it. Great software

Thought I would add another one to the list: OnePlaybook it's online basketball play software. It lets you distribute your plays online with things like video so you never have to print out your playbook or burn DVDs to get film to your players.
Just so you know, I'm a little partial because I'm the one who actually made it.

Jes-soft is great. I've used it for years (and paid for a license). The playbook organizing feature was great for making players' binders. I agree that it is not the most visually appealing printout, but it is highly functional.
I agree that FastDraw looks tremendous. Here's my only gripe - what is it with companies that make it difficult to find out what their products cost? Maybe I'm missing something, but it's not obvious to me from their site. I would love to see a link called "purchase" or "pricing" or something so I can decide whether I'm interested (without signing up for any kind of account.)
Athleon looks interesting, but I have the same problem as above. If it's going to be free forever, please say so. If not, tell me what it will cost so I can choose.
I will look at "Brimanning's" program simply because he has the decency to note in his posts that he represents the company. It's hard to sift through the "review" posts only to wonder which ones are written by someone with a bias.

I've used athleon.com, I need to map out my players on my own to really understand it, so I find it really useful. I may even use the practice planner, I usually do that on my own just using word, but I may try it.
