They allow the pass to the wing by pretty much playing pack line defense. Once the ball goes to the wing ball reversal is not allowed, but a corner pass allowed once the ball goes to the corner the pass back out is not allowed. All screens are switched. Front the post and give early help on any drive. If you are guarding the ball on the wing you must on on the high hip and not allow a middle dribble penetration. That is the basics, there is more to it. Jim says that this type of defense puts pressure on the offense and does not take as much time to teach as a pressure man to man system.

Now I think you could use Wayne's swarm ideas for this defense also, but Jim did not want a bunch of helping all the time that lead to scrambling and getting caught in a rotation. The book is a great resource that I do believe if you are in a smaller school could be an effective defense as it takes people out of what they want to do.
